Privacy

This site collects almost nothing.

The site has no accounts or forms, and it sets no cookies on your device. This page lists everything it does collect.

What we do not collect

  • No accounts and no sign-in.
  • No forms. We do not ask for your name, email address, postal address, or phone number anywhere on this site.
  • No cookies.
  • No advertising or cross-site tracking. The site has no ad network, social media pixel, session recording or fingerprinting, and it builds no profile of you.
  • No selling or sharing. We hold no personal information about visitors, so there is nothing to sell or share.

What we do measure

We count page views to see which pages are being read. The counter is Vercel Web Analytics, running on this domain. It sets no cookie, does not follow you to other sites and builds no profile. What we see is aggregate: how many times a page was opened, and roughly from where and on what kind of device.

We cannot identify you from these counts.

What our host necessarily sees

The site is served by Vercel. Like every web host, its servers handle the request your browser makes, which includes your IP address, and may keep short-lived operational records of that traffic to keep the site up and to stop abuse. We do not use those records to identify visitors, and we do not combine them with anything else.

Fonts and images come from this domain

The typefaces and images on these pages are served from this domain, not fetched from a font or media network while you read. The site also ships a content security policy that permits loading from this domain and from Vercel’s own analytics endpoint, and nowhere else.

Links and the brief

The sources page links to primary documents at agencies, insurers, universities, and news organizations. Those sites are not ours, and each has its own privacy practices. The two-page brief is a PDF file, served the same way as the pages.

Your rights

California law gives residents the right to know what personal information an organization holds about them, and to have it corrected or deleted. Because this site holds no personal information about its visitors, there is no file to disclose, correct, or erase. If that changes, this page will be updated before any collection begins.

Children

This site is written for policymakers, agencies, insurers, and funders. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this page

The date at the top is the date of the last change. Because this is a preview of an initiative that is still being built, expect this page to gain detail as the site does, particularly if we ever add a way to contact the team or to join a list.
